I started Simple Cheap Mom because I had the feeling that my friends thought that I lived weird. Well actually a friend once introduced me as “my weird friend” so I’m sure that’s what they think.
I’m a stay at home mom. My better half works for the government. We live in a two story house in the suburbs. It’s a life I thought was so bland that no one would bat an eye.
But, apparently they do.
We try to make the best decisions for our family based on the information we have. Sometimes this means that we make decisions that not everyone can understand.
- I’ve lived car free.
- I left my 9-5 job to start my own business in my 20’s.
- I have an engagement cat instead of a ring.
- We had a home birth.
- We live off half of one salary.
- We want to be mortgage free by 35.
I’m usually not eloquent enough to properly explain our decisions face to face. Instead I’m more likely to crack a joke. I started this blog to share the things I wish I could explain better.
I hope that you enjoy reading about how we spend our time and money and that you will be bold enough to share your stories too.
